Shilpa Shetty Sues False Agent

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty is suing a woman who falsely claimed to be her agent and secured deals on her behalf, without her permission.

U.K. based Jasveer 'Jazz' Barton 'represented' Shetty while she was appearing on British reality TV show Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year (07).

Shetty claims Barton is now attempting to "extract money from her" and is demanding a share of her earnings.

Her publicist and spokesman Dale Bhagwagar says, ''We have put up a case at the City Civil Court, Mumbai, asking for an injunction against Barton's untrue claims and demands.

"Now that Shilpa is world famous, Barton has been trying to extract money from her. She has been sending her legal notices, seeking a cut from Shilpa's earnings.

"Barton's demands are ridiculous, as Shilpa does not have any contract or agreement with her in the first place. By going to court, Shilpa is just protecting herself from her illegal claims"
